Humpday Update

I survived two days, and onto my third! Only 9 weeks and two days after I train today, woohoo! So far, the effect of this program has been soreness to the point of staggering as I walk to the bathroom, and hunger to the point of spooning peanut butter out of the jar after eating french toast for dinner last night (we’ve all done it, right? Right?). Here’s the breakdown of Monday and Tuesday:

Day 1 (Monday):

  • 3×10 Box Jumps
  • 5x4x125lbs Back Squat
  • 5x4x95 Slooow Squats (slow on the way down, fast on the way up)
  • 5x4x30lbs Jump Squat
  • 4x6x40lbs Barbell Hip Thrust (did this lying flat on the ground)
Felt very tired afterward, very sore this morning. Also felt accomplished, like there was still a little MORE I could have done, and proud that I completed it with about the correct amount of wait times between rounds!
Day 2 (Tuesday)
  • 3 rounds of: Lying Leg Curl (15x75lbs on Hamtractor machine), Leg Extensions (10x25lbs – told you I was sore!), and Walking Lunges (15)
  • 3 rounds of: 1-minute bike sprint, 30 bodyweight squats, 10 vertical jumps
Soreness increased proportionally with my sense of accomplishment, haha.
Today is upper body heavy weights so…
